Today my girlfriend and I were talking and she said she would have no problem with getting over a guy she had a crush on if he didn't like her back if she continued to hang out with him and doesn't understand why her friend stopped talking to her after he told her he liked her and she didn't like him back.

I told her I completely understand her friend because every time that I've developed a crush on someone and they didn't like me back I've had to stop talking to them in order to get over them. My girlfriend asked me if I would stop talking to her in the case we broke up and I said if she broke up with me I would have to stop talking to her at least at the beginning in order to stop having feelings for her and she told me she'd have no problem with getting over me if we continued to be hang out.

We aren't mad at each other or having any sort of argument but I wanted to know if it's normal to be how I am or not?
