What should I do when I'm sad but have no one in my life I'm close enough to talk to?
Post Body

I don't like to talk to my parents because my childhood was terrible and they didn't care about my emotional needs. Now I've grown up, moved out, I'm independent, have a great career, and I'm happy on my own. However, I don't interact with them much.

I have a few friends here and there but since I moved really far and moved quite often I don't really have friends that "stuck around". I have some friends in the city but I'm not emotionally close to anyone to talk about my feelings with.

I don't want to pay a therapist to talk about my sad days because I want a real human being who genuinely cares about me to sit down and listen.

I don't have a partner which exacerbates this situation since most people have a special person they go to when they are feeling low. I've been longing for a caring companion to share my life with but even after improving my life significantly, I am still no where close to having a life partner.

I don't have any pets to talk to either. I absolutely love cats and dogs and feel emotional thinking about not even having a pet to take care of.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do when I'm feeling low and need someone to listen to me and console me and say everything's going to be okay.
