So lately on Instagram, I keep getting follow requests by someone using different accounts, but each account has the exact same person, just different pictures of them. Each profile picture has the exact same person, but in a different angle, location, etc. 90% of the time, I just ignore the person and block them. I've messaged them a couple of times by simply asking "say potato if you're not a bot". The first time I asked, they sent a voice message that was obviously pre recorded just saying why I think they're fake. I then replied with the same thing, and they later blocked me. Even after this, they continue to request to follow me. I never accept their request, but I do send them a follow request. Their profile is usually empty (no pictures, just a bio and a profile picture). Their following and follower counts is high, despite being a bot account.
Now my question is what's the purpose to this? They never message me first and the above mentioned is the closest I've gotten to having a conversation with any of their accounts. Are they trying to scam me for money, trying to find dirt on me to blackmail me with? I don't get it. Everything has been harmless so far. I don't follow weird accounts. It's a personal account so I follow real life family, friends, artists and meme accounts. I just don't get what's happening and it's honestly kinda creepy.
