If someone outwardly laments their loneliness, only to violently reject any company and going back to lamenting without any other thought, does this mean anything about them, and is there something that can be done about this?

Yes, it's a well-known topic in some comedic pieces involving a person's mental state (and I am worried that there's an industry on this). But comedic or not, this blows so much hypocrisy, ignorance, and lack of self-awareness that it almost seems impossible to comprehend. For me at least; my skills to navigate in this world may have been very insufficient, which is why I am asking here.
