Is our need for improved tech creating waste?

The amount of IT waste created is creating so much waste due to the fact that we need to keep upgrading.
The very fact that if a phone is more than 4-5 years old, then it means it needs to be replaced.
If a CPu or iPad is more than a few generations old, then we replace it as it’s too old.
This is not good for the environment and waste reduction.
Most of this IT waste is not recycled either.
