What do you think of a cleaning schedule as opposed to clean as you go

So moved to a house with new roommates and it’s pretty good but they have a cleaning schedule and idk if it’s what I want to do. I’m a pretty clean person and in my old house we just cleaned up any mess we made after doing anything, house was always cleaned but idk I’m working 9 hour shifts 5 days a week, I don’t really wanna come home to see I have to do more work, especially something I didn’t cause, I guess it’s more organised but idk, what do you guys think?
