Okay, I know this might sound a bit odd, but I gotta ask. My partner has this dog, Charlie, that’s been in his life way before we started dating. Charlie is super cute and affectionate, and I get that pets are important, but lately, I’ve been feeling kinda jealous of how much attention and love Charlie gets.
Like, whenever we’re together, Charlie always seems to be the center of attention. My partner talks about him all the time and even plans things around Charlie’s needs. I know it’s not the dog’s fault, but sometimes I feel left out or like I’m competing for attention.
Is it weird to feel jealous of a pet? I mean, I love animals and all, but I can’t help feeling a bit overshadowed. How do I deal with these feelings without coming off as unreasonable?
