Is it possible my phone was prone to hacking because it was a Redmi(Chinese company)?

I bought a Redmi note 12 smart phone because it was cheap and done the job. I have 2 step verification on my accounts.

While I had the phone I would keep getting text messages from Steam, Facebook, Whatsapp etc. The text messages would be codes for someone obviously trying to access my accounts.

I ended up ditching the phone and bought a Google pixel. Since owning the pixel I have not had a single text message regarding codes to access my accounts.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I find it kinda weird.
