Why is it legal for companies to put important terms and conditions at the bottom?

It’s such a scummy thing for companies to put things like “this insurance will exclude you from floods” on page 34 of a document.

No one is gonna read 34 pages. That’s just bullying time poor people.

Are people going to read a 25 page legal document every time they sign up to things? Especially when it’s minor like a gym membership…. No.
