Why isn’t it possible to keep a huge parachute at the tail of an airplane to slowdown its speed ?
Post Body

I was reading that speed and impact of the plane is what kills the most in a case of crash. If so then why don’t we keep a parachute at the tail of a commercial airplane to slowdown its speed, like they do for fighter jet on an aircraft carrier or how they do to f1 cars.

Is there any reason why not to do that? Is there anyone who tested it on a commercial plane?
