Why are male politicians called by their surname, and females by their first name?
Post Body

So look across politics, for example, the last few Australian Prime Minister's have been:

1) (Anthony) Albanese

2) (Scott) Morrison

3) (Malcolm) Turnbull

4) (Tony) Abbott

5) (Kevin) Rudd

6) Julia (Gillard)

Julia stands alone that of if you say "When Julia ran the country..." It would be accepted.

Scott Morrison was the only Scott, but you wouldn't say "When Scott ran the country", you'd say "When the Morrison government was in power" or "When ScoMo was in charge"
