I tried asking this in r/mold but the sub is small and seemingly not very active.
I have had a wall open for several months, trying to treat the visible mold before closing it back up. This isn't working, because we suspect there is mold that we can't get to without taking the wall apart the rest of the way, do we're hiring professionals.
I've got a bunch of stuff in my room that has therefore been essentially exposed to mold spores. Do I need to do anything special when putting things away to keep the cardboard boxes of my figures, models, and the paper case art of my games from growing their own mold? What about the figures themselves that have been on shelves in the room? Books?
I don't want to open the storage totes I'm going to be putting things in when it's time to get everything out, only for there to be mold growing on my valuables. I already intend to put some silica gel packets in each tote to reduce moisture, but there's still going to be darkness and heat, which worries me that mold will grow.
