Say you were dating someone who is a good friend, a good companion, you have lots of shared interests, enjoy each other's company, and you have a great sex life. However, they are not a good long-term partner (they smoke weed daily, don't have an internal drive/motivation to make themselves better, they don't have financial independence and rely on their parents for housing). This person says they will get back on their feet, but haven't for the last two years.
How long would you stay with them? They're great company, but not a good long term partner.
