Is it entitled to request that your roommates do not have opposite gender guests stay overnight?

I’m moving into a place with roommates and I was told they prefer not to let partners stay overnight. I instantly got a bad vibe. I know each person is entitled to their own living preferences and I don’t hold it against him, but i wanna know how common this is because I never rented with roommates before
