I see tons and tons of commercials with famous celebrities. It never made sense to me because I know they're just being paid to be there and since they live vastly different lives than me, their support towards a specific product/service is irrelevant to me, I'd rather see the specifics of the product itself.
But hiring a celebrity to be in your commercial has to be insanely expensive, and billionaire corporations are too smart to throw their money away like that, so it must be an effective strategy.
Hence my question, are YOU more likely to fall for an advertisement if you see a famous celebrity in it, and why?
