Why do jobs still require you to stand in for 8+ hours in 2024?
Post Body

Who do jobs in general especially places like retail require you to stand for an 8 hour shift in 2024.

The main reason I’ve heard is the “professionalism” aspect where they assume people think they’re “professional” or “working hard” if they’re standing their whole shift even when they’re no customers or they’re aren’t adding customers when in reality customers don’t even care as long as your service is getting down in a good manner.

I just don’t understand why your not allowed to sit when working with no customers or not assisting customers like the only retail I know that even allows a cashier to sit in chairs is like Aldi.
