Do the "If buying isn't owning then downloading isn't piracy" crowd have a point?
Post Body
Redbox recently was declared bankrupt and I don't have access to movies that I bought. At this point so many companies have either gone bankrupt or revoked access to media.
What is established NOW (and for a while) is that buying a TV show or game doesn't necessarily mean that you owe it and can play it forever. It doesn't mean you can watch it forever.
Piracy is the unathorised ripping or copying of movies... but those companies are unnecessarily removing access to media and games that we paid for.
I personally spent 3K on movies on Redbox and now have 0 access to it. I also don't have access to some games that I've paid for in the past too.
In some terms and conditions, they say that you cannot make copies of the shows or games.
