Is it natural to not be able to have fun if you suck at something?
Post Body

Yesterday, I went bowling with some family members, and I remembered the last time I went bowling years ago, I could make a three year old look like a better player. I figured that since I was older, stronger, and a bit smarter than I was before, I would likely do a lot better this time.

Wrong. I couldn’t even keep up halfway with everybody else with me, and seeing someone who wasn’t even ten years old have way more points than me was really disheartening. Because of the embarrassment I was feeling, I just eventually stopped trying altogether, and when the first game was over, I just called it quits. I went to the back of the building, and messed around on some arcade games while everyone else kept going. When it comes to bowling, I have just always sucked at it no matter what.

Yes, I know that losing is inevitable in pretty much anything when competing, but I can get a little bit of enjoyment if I can at least put up a fight. But if I’m getting my ass handed to me, then it all just goes out the window.

Is there anything wrong with that?
