Why does something taste / feel better after you haven't done it / tried it in a long time?
Post Body

I've noticed that energy drinks (for example) don't taste that good after I've been drinking them often but recently I took a 2 week break from them and just opened up a can of an energy drink and it tastes incredible. I've had this same drink many times before but it never tasted this good.

So this had me thinking if it is because of the long period of time that has passed without me trying it? For example I have noticed the same thing with food, masturbation, hugging someone, going on a walk etc etc.

An activity you haven't done in a while always seem to feel better compared to when you are doing it frequently, why is that?
