They should have tried to move it somewhere else (like South America) starting in December of last year. Paris is a place known for having a lot of terrorist attacks even in the off season (like what happened in 2015) and right now global tensions are at an all time high with Putin having his war on Ukraine and being responsible for many bad things around the globe as well as the Israel-Palestine war (with religious fundamentalists wanting revenge against everyone and everything) and record breaking average hot temperatures (with the heat making everyone more irritable) as well as being a major election year in many countries (with people wanting every opportunity to blame the other side for any bad things that happen). Not to mention the big resurgence in Covid. This could all be very dangerous. Having the Olympics right now seems like a huge security risk and it should probably be canceled or postponed if it can’t be moved.
