What’s the difference? Anytime I try to look it up it’s like every thing and every persons got a different definition. I decided to stop having sex a few years ago for personal reasons. Not for religious reasons, not to wait for marriage, not a forever decision, just for right now until the time feels right I guess because I use to have a bad relationship with sex. I’ve stopped dating and being involved with people in those ways too. I’ve been calling myself celibate because I’ve heard other ppl in the same situation call it that but I’ve also heard the correct term for this decision is abstinence, but I’ve also heard abstinence is when you’re holding off for reasons like religion or waiting for marriage. So I’m just wondering if I’m using the term celibate correctly?
