There's this girl at the gym I go to that I think is pretty impressive in some of her exercises. I've always wanted to compliment her on them when I see her but I have mixed opinions from female friends some say it's fine some say absolutely not. Online of course the sentiment is you can't even look in the direction of a girl because you don't want any accusations. Even if she doesn't want to talk to me do you think she'd mind the simple compliment and exchanging of names? I don't want to be weird or make anyone uncomfortable.

EDIT/UPDATE Due to the amount of comments saying no, I decided I will not be doing it. I did not mention beforehand in this post but I have complimented other regulars who are guys, she is also a regular. Those people I have complimented I usually ask for names just so I can socialize amongst the regulars because I am one myself. I asked this question because female friends have given me mixed opinions some say yes and some say no. So now I know for sure. Thanks everyone.
