Why does everyone expect you to just sit there and “take it?”
Post Body

When you make a mistake,

if you’ve acknowledged the mistake fully, the impact it had, how to fix it, how to prevent it in the future, in detail and the harmed party agrees i’m not missing anything.

why does it seem like everyone expects you to “sit there and take it” until they are satisfied anyways? I’ve had three different people tell me that i’m expected to just sit there and let them yell at me until they are done? even though I have given them the tangible proof that I fully understand it already?

what could be the purpose? just to allow them to get their anger out at my expense when i’ve already acknowledged and remedied the issue?

I’m trying to figure out if people just have different philosophies regarding it or is it “supposed” to be a certain way?
