How will I know it’s time to get a new car?
Post Body

So I have a 2014 Toyota Corolla that has 74,200 km on it. My parents bought it brand new back in 2014 for me and my siblings. For context, my brother used it a lot for about 2 years before moving away. My sister HATES driving with a literal passion but has driven it (but very rarely). My parents would use it sometimes but they also have their own cars. And then there’s me. I learned how to drive in that car but I was just lazy and didn’t make an effort to get my license. I got my license near the end of 2021 and back then it had 30-35,000km on it. But back to my question, how will I know it will be time for me to get a new car? I know that car will last me at least 300,000km but will the engine light be on more often before it “dies” or will a mechanic just straight up tell me there’s nothing they can do to fix it and tell me to get a new one.
