Is it just me, or are restaurants overcooking all their foods?
Post Body

I love to eat out, and it seems that every time I order fries, onion rings, etc., they come back extremely well-done: ashy, charred, and nasty. I seem to always need to ask for something to be lightly done for them to come out correctly. Even burgers, when ordered medium-rare, come out medium-well, and pizzas come out with charred bottoms.

I don't remember this ever happening when I was younger, though. Do customers just prefer everything well-done, and restaurants are assuming this in advance, or is it just me? Thanks!
