Work Etiquette - Is it weird to bring mini souvenir gifts from my home state to a work event?
Post Body

Hi all, context: I recently started a fully remote job beginning of this month and since then have sort of been looped into attending an event at headquarters for the department I am working in. I've met most of the people in the department via 1on1 teams video calls. The event is for a week next month so I will only have known / worked with these people for 1 month in total.

I was considering if I should buy like an airport gift in my city such as a plush flamingo and postcard to write a thank you note on it for my direct manager and mentors. Is this something that would be weird and that I should hold off on until next years event? I also don't want to appear like a suckup but more so be like hey thank you for helping me get started and being so welcoming etc.

And is this something where u shouldn't do it unless you give everyone in your department something. I mean technically I have 2 managers, then 2 upper managers, and 2 more upper managers 2 mentors.
