So after John Cena's moment at the Oscars I was googling him and reading his wiki page which led me to rearrive at a question I've had my whole life but never answered, what is the deal with pro wrestling?
I never watched it as a kid. All I ever knew it was staged for show. Okay, seems fair enough, entertaining, fun, etc.
Then you get into factoids like John Cena 'winning' a bunch of WWE titles etc., and being remarked as 'one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time's. Etc.
So like I'm not trying to bash it it's just like... Where does the grading abd evaluation of skill come into play and glory in winning titles when it's all... Staged and scripted? Wikipedia states it as it it's a real thing that he could have won or lost, like a real sport... But again, I emphasize, it's all scripted. It's like saying Piers Brosnan is one of the best spy agents of all time... James Bond is a fictional character... Piers Brosnan was acting. Am I making sense? Can any pro wrestling fans help me understand?
