Sold a dirtbike a month ago and he still hasn't picked it up. What are my options?
Post Body

A month ago a fella came to look at my dirt bike I had for sale. We agreed on the price and then he said he had to get the money from the credit union. He handed me $200 deposit and then told me he had to apply for the loan. He ended up taking weeks to get the financing for all of $2300. Had I known initially he wasn't going to be able to buy it right then and there I'd have opted out of the deal. After he finally got the money he came to my work and delivered me the cash. No paperwork or bill of sale signed or anything. Just handed over the cash. This was at least 2 weeks ago now and he's fallen off the face of the earth. I've called, texted, Facebook messaged, etc, and nothing in response. Technically on paper the bike is still mine and I worry about liability of this thing getting stolen or something. I just sent him a text that I need it gone by the end of the week because I want the space in my garage and I'm worried about liability. If I continue to hear nothing back from this guy what are my options since it was never signed over to him in anyway? Can I list it for sale again and if he comes looking for it some day just tell him to piss off and he lost his money? Money he gave me is long since spent as I sold the bike because I NEEDED money. So if he showed up looking for his money back, I don't have it. What are my options here? I can't just push it out to the road and tell him pick it up or someone else is taking it and I don't feel right just selling it again. What should I do?
