I literally cannot remember the last time I was conscious and not aware of My thoughts. I try to distract Myself most of the time with people, music, games, tv, etc. but I am having conscious thoughts then too. When I go to bed, I am awake and actively thinking until I literally black out. Then I wake up and think again. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD which may be related but My medication helps with being able to focus and start tasks, not quieting My thoughts.
Is having a constant stream of conscious thoughts the norm, and I am one of a few who finds it agonizing/exhausting? I’ve tried meditation and hypnosis a few times but no luck.
