Do you think character references should be allowed in cases of sexual assault?
Post Body

I had this discussion with my partner. My view was that someone who is remorseful and accountable, and unlikely to reoffend shouldn’t be treated the same as someone who is repetitively or maliciously assaulting others or seeking to dominate them, and good character references can show that. He said that the punishment should relate to the crime only, and if they are guilty then what does it matter if other people still think they have value… what do you think?
