Why shouldn’t we require any publicly traded corporation to have a union in place for its employees?

Just a random thought I had. Since I’ve seen multiple articles that point out making sure the lowest earners have adequate monies helps the economy, seems that it being a requirement for being publicly traded is a case of ‘high tides raise all ships”.
