How do I make sure to give a positive impression to a very openly gay prospective employer while I look like a redneck??
Post Body

Title pretty much sums it up. I look how I look, am an avid hunter/fisherman, primary color is flannel, ball cap & grease stains type dude. I've been told by (homosexual) friends that I give off the typical MAGA impression because of this, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

When it comes down to it I just want to leave a good impression because the job seems great

Update: After all the feedback I'm just going to essentially do what I had planned: be myself. I will however dress up a bit nicer than usual. I probably won't state my pronouns, but I like the idea of including it on my resume. Still debating on a rainbow accessory piece.

Update 2: Got the job, boss is cool & met his husband

Afterthought: I noticed how most people automatically assumed I was meeting with a male employer when I never stated that. The assumption was correct but an interesting observation

I’d tell him that you’ve experimented with same sex relations at trump rally’s. And the grease has its advantages
