A question about the function of dental dams

The best part of oral sex for me is when people suck on my clit. Im looking at getting freaky with other people and I’m considering protection methods. Im wondering if you can get that same suction feeling/technique through a dental dam? Or would the giver just end of sucking the dental dam into their mouth and not actually giving any pleasure?
