So this has been in the back of my mind for years, it's a long shot. I saw a film many years ago, it was from like 60s, possibly early 70s, I think beach/surfing themed. I don't think it was from the US, it was UK, possible Australia, or mainland Europe (but I don't remember it being dubbed).
The plot was two guys competing over a girl, I think her name was "Tess". The twist was in the end they both agree to share her, and they say something like "Half a Tess is better than no Tess at all".
I think it was nominally a comedy, but it wasn't very funny. Kind of low budget.
