Legendary Ship isn’t there?

Was cruising through a system early in a NG . Came across a Legendary ship. Decided to wait a bit to go after it. Still have the quest. But when I go to the planet listed in the quest, the ship isn’t there. And if I have the quest up and hit the button to take me to the target location on the star map…. It does nothing. Is there something I need to do to trigger the ship? Or am I glitched?
