Help with water only leading to split ends
Post Body

I've been doing water only like 2x a week with preening and a boars bristle brush for just over 6 months. Overall my hair is super healthy, but I've noticed lots of split ends sooner than normal. Usually I'd get them when I was beyond overdue for a haircut like maybe around 6 months or so, but recently I've noticed bad split ends within 1-2 months. Since it's just the ends I should go for an oil over a conditioner, right? If so, how much oil do you use and how do you go about applying it to just your ends. My hairs a short to medium length if that makes any difference. Also I just got a haircut a week ago so I won't really be repairing split ends, just preventing them from happening so soon.
