For those that spend alot of time collecting and upgrading various starships, you can also have those added to your space squadron.

Go to any trade outpost with the ship you'd like to add in to your squad (have at least 1 empty squad slot) Create a save point for yourself (in case you'd like to revert any changes) wait for any starship to spawn in and trade yours for it. Your ship should then spawn in to an empty spot on the trading outpost (usually across from you) just recruit that pilot to your squad. In less than 5 minutes after adding this ship to your squad, another ship will spawn in. Same type, class, all upgrades and cargo still remaining. After retrieving your ship back, simply go to your freighter and check on your new squad. As a side note, while all upgrades and inventory transfers to the newly recruited pilot, I'm not sure if this really affects damage at all. I mostly like the aesthetic
