Basebuilding and the center

Has anyone confirmed what happens when you go to the center of the galaxy now? I imagine you lose all your bases because you have new seedboxes when you go to the next galaxy. How about your freighter? Seems entirely possible you would keep that.
The center of the galaxy is pointless as it is so I guess it's unimportant but base building could make it 100% a bad idea to go there.
