Are Intercepter ships worth it?
Post Body

As the title says but here’s some background.

One of my biggest turnoffs when switching to the sentinel ship is the resource changes. Now most of these are substitutes that make it easier for example you can use a crystal instead of a warp core to power all the way to 100 percent warp. But then there’s the shield.

With the new update space combat is a bit more dangerous and items like shield batteries are now just a suggestion but a requirement. The intercepter changes the shield battery input to a crystal input. The issue here being 10 slot maximum for the crystals and once you’re out you can’t just fabricate more.

My other issue is damage. I don’t know what’s going on with my ship but despite it having almost four times the output compared to my previous ship and much faster fire rate, it fails to cut through enemy shields as quickly.

Finally the repairs. While the worst you would normally have to do it hunt down cadium and similar metals for normal ships. With an interceptor you have to find a specific randomly generated enemy in order to get a single part. And with the ship parts breaking at random when you get low now it can be expensive to keep buying repair kits because you physically don’t have the material needed.

If I’m doing something wrong please tell me but otherwise I genuinely would like to know your input.
