Did the quarantine teach us this?
Post Body

I've read many times about people who relapsed more during quarantine. Or that were getting pretty good streaks and cannot get them anymore since quarantine started.

I think what quarantining is showing to us is that when we are not doing well we fap more and viceversa when we fap more we don't do well. This brings the attention to the fact that there are underlying mechanisms behind fap. It's not just porn and it's not just hormones (dopamine?). It's being trapped at home or worried about money/work or being isolated, lack of exercise, lack of future... and that's why often the fellows here talk about good habits, improving onelsef and so on as the way out PMO. PMO is one way to run away from our problems and quarantine doesn't let us run anywhere, so we use the backd... the low front door.

Nofap is not magic but is helpful as a strong guideline to deal with the other little things that don't go that well in our lives. We focus on something that's simple and easy to spot and it brings us to face other things one at a time. Some experience depression, anxiety, huge urges, vivid dreams, the so called flatlines; everyone his own thing. All this is talking about other imbalances in our lives and bodies. And we start tackling them down one by one in a healing process. A process that can take very long in some cases, because some of the underlying problems are big and we rarely (can) do big drastic changes in our lives. And by big I mean men who live with parents who are strict and demanding, or drunk, or who have no parents, people who feel that cannot handle their working lives, who feel very anxious and guilty about who they are, people who's been postponing through PMO for so many years (anyone else in their 30s here or beyond?) and they have quite some road to walk back...

Nofap offers us a tool for observing ourselves and our lives so we can face our dark side and enlighten it.

And above all, Nofap offers us a strong community of support, acceptance (this is a huge point) and help.

Thank you brothers and have a good night full of healthy dreams 😎
