Post Body

Is it me or is everybody nowadays obsessed with characterising every mistake or flaw in their make up as an addiction? I think it is the meaning of the word addiction. I feel it also feels more addictive behaviour. When you start characterising every little mistake as bad behaviour and then calling it an addiction, you keep putting yourself in this do or die sort of position. People will swear of a behaviour. They will commit to never doing it again without really thinking it through. Of course, eventually they give in. When they give in, they start binging because they tell themselves this is going to be the last time. Then they stop for a while. When they are white knuckling has caused them enough pain they given and go back to binging. I feel the idea of NO FAP is to swear off these behaviours for a little while like 90 days so that you can see what it is doing to you and if your life is better without these behaviours in it. If you make that realisation, then perhaps the goal should be to find a sensible way to indulge perhaps in a measured manner. If however you come to the conclusion that this behaviour must go for ever then you should consider getting serious and professional help. I don’t think swearing off PMO for life is a good idea for everyone. It may be for some people but for most, I don’t think it is a very good idea. Maybe you can regularly swear off a couple of months in a year. This way you can maintain moderate behaviour patterns for life. What do you all think?
