No contract company that allows me to use a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

I posted this in r/frugal as well. My sister gave me her old phone but Verizon won't let me use it because it is not eligible for their prepaid accounts. Is there another company that I can go through?
My current plan is unlimited talk/text with 3GB of data for $40 per month. I'm looking for something close to that. I live in Kentucky if that makes a difference.
