Can I use att pre paid on att sim locked iPhone 13?

My brother gave me an iPhone 13 of his (not stolen) installment plan hasn't been paid off collection agency hasn't sent him a letter about debt his att account has been cancelled/suspended it's been 1 year and some months since he financed it I know I can't use it on other carriers since it's sim locked to att I want to know if It would work on att pre paid so I can call and use 4G/5G internet anywhere without wifi
