Keyboard Backlight Shenanigans?

Hello lovely people!
I'm running nixOS on my Lenovo Ideapad 5 pro laptop. Anyone have any idea how to prevent the keyboard backlight from turning on whenever the laptop goes to sleep or the screen dims?
I only found solutions for other distros online and I couldn't figure out how to handle it or troubleshoot it since I don't exactly know when Nix handles stuff like this.
