Is There Any Way to Be.A Top Player?

I saw they got rid of leaderboards awhile ago, only god knows why, but i still see that some racers are top ranked. I tend to beat these top ranked people the majority of the time and was wondering if I’d ever get to be a top rank myself, despite there being no leaderboards. Maybe they just let these people keep the badges but there’s no way to move up?
