Rotors and 17 in wheels

Hello, I’ve got a 2012 Nissan Titan, bought some 17 in wheels and would like to mount them. They rub in the front with the caliper slightly, I was wondering if I could swap out the front rotors for smaller ones. Has anyone here done that? Can it be done? Will I have trouble mounting the calipers back on to smaller rotors?
