I have a 2013 Nissan Altima SL 4 cyl 4 door sedan. I bought it brand new off the lot and have loved it up until now. The car is currently sitting exactly at 77,000 and 2 weeks ago as I was coming to a complete stop, the car shuttered and turned off. I was able to restart the car no problem, but when I would shift it into drive it would shutter and die again. After about 5 times of this, I was able to put it in drive and it not die, but it would still shutter/stall when coming to a complete stop. Since that day it has not died, but i get the occasional shutter at low RPMs. It did finally throw a check engine light, and when i got the code read it was P0744. Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Intermittent. I do have the extended power train warranty, but it is 72 months/75,000 miles.
I have an appointment with a dealer to have it looked at, but I already expect the worst. I have called 1-800-NISSAN1 and started a case on it, but until the dealership looks at it and determines the issue it is at a impasse.
I guess my question is, how do I go about raising enough hell that I can get this covered under a warranty that is just barely over the mileage requirements? How would I go about doing this?
Any incite on the subject would be helpful, because there is no way I'll be able to justify a 4k repair on this vehicle.
