Need help with an 04 Altima

So a friend of mine has an 04 Altima. Last week the check alternator light came on. She doesn't drive far daily at all she she lives and works in the same time, but she delivers food so the car is her livelihood.
I'm on the verge of replacing the alternator as the battery is only a few months old and she was told she needed that. However, I'm now reading that there are known electrical issue with this car, and I am wondering if it makes logical sense to still do that. What are your thoughts?
