So. I'm new to Nioh 2 and Nioh in general. I'm looking through the weapon options and think I'm gonna go with dual swords as my primary since they seem to have a nice moveset, and they use skill which is nice since rifles sound like a fun ranged option and I'll probably wind up using light armor for better dodges.

As for the secondary, though, I'm split between the axe and the kusarigama.

They both have some decent moves.

The axe has nice sweeping attacks. It could be nice to have for dealing some extra damage against beefy one-on-one opponents and having more stamina to for lack of better phrasing keep equipment weight down and more health sound like decent bonuses.

The kusarigama has some fast strikes with some nice sweep and reach but since I don't know what ninjutsu are yet, and that's all dexterity seems to do, I'm not sure how worth it, it is to spec into it.

So. Here's me asking more experienced players. Of the two which would you recommend?

I'd like to keep the discussion focused on that, but if you think a different secondary could fit the playstyle I described, feel free to tell me why you think so.
