So last night we were trying to play Super Smash but for some reason couldn't get our 3rd party controllers to pair to our Switch, or our friends Switch. They had never given us a problem before, so it was a bit frustrating to figure out, especially because we couldn't find anything on Google or here that helped.
After trying to fiddle around with the Change Grip, I decided to go into console settings instead and see if there were more functions available there. Turns out there is!
If you scroll AAAALLLLLLL the way to the bottom, the last line gives you the ability to delete all paired controllers except for the joy cons attached to the Switch. Do that, then re-pair the controller you want and you should be good to go!
It seemed like this was a common problem so I hope this helps!
